We headed off to one of the rare patches of wild forest in Singapore on a stuffy Sunday afternoon. A place where nature still runs wild, surrounded by motorways. In fact, an ancient cemetery, which was partially destroyed to make space for another motorway. In fact, an ancient battleground, where local soldiers under the orders of British commanders once fell at the hands of Japanese soldiers. There, surrounded by hidden tombs, wise trees, quiet streams, wilted flowers and decaying leaves, we found the right place to record this piece.

The scorching heat, the humidity in the air, the mud on our soles. We recorded in between worlds, joined by a chorus of fighter jets rehearsing for the National Day Parade, and the chant of birds and insects all around us.

The video was generated separately. An artificial imitation of nature, looping through its different hallucinations at the pace of Ditha's poem.
